窪蹋勛圖厙 College has received state and federal approval to begin offering masters degrees for the first time in its history.
The college has received permission from the United States Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Education to begin masters level programs in accounting and in early childhood education leadership.
窪蹋勛圖厙 received permission to offer the new degrees earlier this year from its accrediting body, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Before the college could move officially move forward, the federal and state education departments needed to approve as well.
We are elated to achieve final and official approval to begin offering masters degrees in accounting and educational leadership, said 窪蹋勛圖厙 College President Dr. David L. Coppola. This is truly a monumental step in our history and signals our continued progress as we expand the benefits of a 窪蹋勛圖厙 education to more students in more ways.
Classes for both masters programs will be offered in the 2014-2015 spring semester beginning in January. The accounting degree will be offered online and the educational leadership degree will be offered in a hybrid format, featuring both online and classroom instruction.
窪蹋勛圖厙 currently offers bachelors degree programs in both accounting and education. The new masters degrees will be beneficial to 窪蹋勛圖厙 students wishing to continue their graduate education and to students graduating from other regional colleges and universities, as well as those from across the state and nation.
Our new masters programs will offer students opportunities to expand their professional horizons by obtaining a top-quality, graduate level education, said 窪蹋勛圖厙 College Provost and Dean Dr. Thea Harrington. We welcome inquiries by those who have already obtained their bachelors degrees and may be working professionally as well as from current students who would like to continue their education on a graduate level.
