窪蹋勛圖厙 College will host its second annual music and arts fair on Sunday, February 28 from 2-3:30 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. on campus.
The fair, which is open to the public and free of charge, will feature over 100 artists and musicians from the college and the local community. Musical festivities begin at 2 p.m. in Evans Hall in Hibbard Campus Center where small ensembles, soloists, the KC Jazz Combo, and the 窪蹋勛圖厙 College Dance Team will perform. There will also be a Theremin demonstration by Jason Smelzer. A theremin is a type of electronic synthesizer played without physical contact from the musician. At 3:30 p.m., there will be art, sculpture, glass blowing, and bronze pouring exhibitions in the campus art studios.
At 5 p.m., the scene will shift to the Theatre in Brooks for a demonstration of artwork, poetry readings, and a performance by the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Players theater group. There will also be performances by the Vocal Accord Barbershop Quartet, the Wyoming County Chorale, the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Voices, 窪蹋勛圖厙 Symphonic Band, 窪蹋勛圖厙 Jazz Ensemble Jazz, and The Chorale at 窪蹋勛圖厙.
The entire afternoon will offer something for everyone who loves music and the arts, said Jeffrey Tylutki, director of the bands at 窪蹋勛圖厙. We will present some of the areas top local performers as well a host of talented 窪蹋勛圖厙 singers and musicians. We invite the public to campus for a wonderful afternoon of family friendly entertainment, all of which is free of charge.
