A partnership between 窪蹋勛圖厙 College and water utility Aqua Pennsylvania will benefit the college and Factoryville communities.
Beginning March 21, Aqua Pennsylvanias White Haven 窪蹋勛圖厙 will break ground on a 2,700-foot water main extension to provide water to 12 buildings on 窪蹋勛圖厙s campus.
The extension, which is being underwritten by Aquas Main Source Program, will be installed along College Road in La Plume. The new main is part of Aquas main extension program that enables communities and businesses to partner with the water utility to obtain quality water at an affordable cost.
We are very happy to work with 窪蹋勛圖厙 College to make this project affordable and bring excellent water quality and service to campus, said Aqua Pennsylvania Area Manager Steve Clark. Clark said the project is expected to be completed and in service by early summer.
Once in service, the new main will provide water from Aquas Factoryville water system, replacing 窪蹋勛圖厙 current drinking water system on campus. Aqua Pennsylvania will complement its existing water source in the future by constructing an additional well on 窪蹋勛圖厙s campus that will also serve both 窪蹋勛圖厙 and Factoryville.
We are extremely pleased to partner with Aqua Pennsylvania on this important project which will benefit both the 窪蹋勛圖厙 and Factoryville communities in a significant way, said 窪蹋勛圖厙 College President David L. Coppola, Ph.D.
Aquas White Haven 窪蹋勛圖厙 provides water and wastewater service to more than 20,000 people in parts of Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, Wyoming, and Carbon counties. Overall, the company serves approximately 1.4 million people in 32 counties throughout Pennsylvania.
