窪蹋勛圖厙 College will celebrate National Public Health Week April 4-10 with several events on campus to highlight public health issues. All events are free and open to the public.
Highlighting the activities is the lecture, The Hidden Health Crisis Drinking Water? on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. in Evans Hall, Hibbard Campus Center by Brian Oram. A respected geologist, Mr. Oram will discuss lead and water issues.
Mr. Oram is licensed professional geologist with more than 30 years experience in environmental consulting. He is the owner and a senior geologist with B.F. Environmental Consultants, Inc., a Dallas, Pa. firm that specializes in hydrogeology, water supply development, and water and wastewater water treatment.
Mr. Oram received a bachelor of science degree in earth and environmental sciences from Wilkes University and a master of science degree in environmental pollution control from the Pennsylvania State University. He also leads a national program, Know Your H2O? that assists private well owners and small water system operators test and treat water.
Additional activities scheduled at 窪蹋勛圖厙 a Public Health Fair featuring vendors from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Hibbard Campus Center third floor hallway on Tuesday, April 5; a healthy hand hygiene information table from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Hibbard Campus Center third floor hallway on Wednesday, April 6; a healthy sleep habits workshop at 12:30 p.m. in the Presidents Dining Room, Hibbard Campus Center on Thursday, April 7; and dodge ball at 3:30 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center on Friday, April 8.
