窪蹋勛圖厙 to Host 30th Annual Golf Tournament
窪蹋勛圖厙 College will conduct the 30th annual 窪蹋勛圖厙 Open Golf Tournament on Monday, June 28 at Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit. Proceeds from the event support the 窪蹋勛圖厙 College Alumni Association Scholarship and Engagement Fund. Local golfers are invited to participate.
Lunch and registration begin at 11 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Refreshments and dinner will follow the tournament. Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are still available. To register, become a sponsor, or obtain more information, please go to or call (570) 945-8483.
This years tournament is especially notable because it will honor long-time 窪蹋勛圖厙 College professor and Dalton residents Patti Davis, Ph.D. and her husband, Al Davis. Dr. Davis has been involved with the tournament since its inception and co-chairing the event this year is a great way to show her continued dedication. The tournament couldnt be held last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 窪蹋勛圖厙 Open is such an enjoyable event and means so much to our college. I really love taking part in it each year and being selected with Al as co-chairs is really a special honor.

Al Davis agreed: 窪蹋勛圖厙 means so much to our entire family, he said. Its a pleasure to give back to this special place in any way we can.
The Davis family has a long and proud history at 窪蹋勛圖厙. Dr. Davis obtained her associate degree from the colleges former Weekender Program in 1980, before obtaining her bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees, and then joined the 窪蹋勛圖厙 faculty as an accounting professor in 1984.
In addition to sharing her dedication and love of 窪蹋勛圖厙 with her students, Dr. Davis and Al have also passed on that spirit to their family as well. Daughters Amber Davis Trunzo, Dr. Suzanne Davis Cercone, Jennifer Davis Casey and Dr. Gretchen Davis Welby, and son, Adam Davis, J.D., all received their bachelor degrees from 窪蹋勛圖厙. Dr. Welby and Dr. Cercone also served as adjunct faculty members and Dr. Welby served as president of the Alumni Association.
In addition, their son, Albert, has taken courses at 窪蹋勛圖厙. Husband Al has taken classes there too and for many years has been well known for his expert disc jockey skills at 窪蹋勛圖厙 social events. Finally, their granddaughter Taylor Cercone received her bachelors degree from 窪蹋勛圖厙 last December and will receive her MBA in May, 2022.
窪蹋勛圖厙 has been an important and wonderful part of our lives for so many years, Patti said. I really look forward to seeing everyone at the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Open.
